Our adult involvement with the bicycle began in 2005 as a form of all-body exercise and as the chair of the Bike/Ped Sub-committee of Hendersonville Tomorrow Committee. That led to the formation of the FOGBEE bicycle club, my memberhip on the Bike/Ped Advisory Committee with Nashville Metropolitan Planning, and the formation of Tennessee's first non-profit advocacy corporation Bike/Walk Tennessee. In support of that work I build several websites. Now retired, I have moved some of their content to these pages.
Once very active in Bike/Ped advocacy, I served in an advisory role at the State and City level. I build the Bikinhville.org website to share information valuable in that work. In 2021, I retired both me and that website. The Hendersonville page has a few items I felt worth keeping, such as bke routes and greenway trail plans.
Bike Touring offers a combination of adventure and sight-seeing, close-up and personal. The evening get-togethers with comrades to discuss the highlights of the day over a cold brew are hard to beat. The Bike Touring page details with journals and blogs what we have done and are planning to do.
In 2006, we formed the FOGBEE bicycle club. Over 250 bicyclists have worn our jersey as members. They have also been active in promoting bicycling and chartered the advocacy corp Bike/Walk TN and established TN first US Bike Route USBR-23.
